Brian Wilson one of a kind

2010 World Series champion, Brian Wilson was on the George Lopez show the other night. Although I am not a fan of Lopez, after watching Wilson on Jim Rome, Wilson has become one of my favorite players to watch, esecially in interviews.

Video: Matt & Kim - "Cameras"

Here's the new video from one of my favorite bands Matt & Kim. "Cameras" debuted today on MTV. This is the single off their latest album "Sidewalks."

Excellent fight scenes. I'd like to see the guys at 3rd String Safety break it down.

Is this the Best Commercial Ever?

The MSG Network is the TV home of the New York Knicks. Over the past few weeks, they've been playing the heck out of a certain Sports Authority commercial. It's literally in every break MSG takes.

Some people at WCWP Sports love the ad, citing the attractiveness of the woman in the red sports bra. Others have expressed their displeasure with the commercial and the fawning over said woman. Here is that commercial:

Well, what do you think? Is it worthy of extremely heavy rotation?

Rudy Gay: Most Interesting Man In The NBA

I know our man Seth Rosenthal can appreciate this! Here's a video that Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay made to campaign for fans to vote for him into February's All-Star Game. It's obviously a play off of "The Most Interesting Man In The World" Dos Equis commercials. Check it out chumps!

This season, Gay is averaging 21 points and 6 rebounds per game so he definitely has a case to make the West roster. Look out for the Grizz as well. Only a game and a half behind Portland who is really banged up for the 8th seed in the playoffs.

Matt Soldano Gets Pranked

I'm here at the WCWP studios and I'm finishing up a song Matt Soldano and I made for our friend Brandon Steinberger's baseball team. Matt didn't know I was here and thought the song would be done by Sunday. I posted an update on Twitter about resident DJ and philanthropist Mark Xclusive recording an intro for the song. Matt then called me and this is what happened:

Thanks to Mark for having the mind to pull out his iPhone and record what went down.

Bowl Mania Day 14

Ohio State fans, enjoy tonight. It'll be the last time you see this guy for a lonnnnnng time....
Sugar Bowl: Arkansas vs Ohio State
Fantastic quarterback matchup. Watching Ryan Mallet play is just plain fun. But it won't be enough to beat an inspired Ohio State team (see: '11 suspensions).
And the Big 10 has to win a game....right?
The Pick: Ohio State

Bowl Mania: 20-9

BCS Bowls: 2-1

Bowl Mania Day 13

Orange Bowl: Stanford vs. Virginia Tech

I love Stanford. There I said it.

I don’t just like them to win the game tonight (spoiler – I do), but I like what they stand for. As a die hard Golden Dome, I have a soft spot in my heart for schools that succeed while maintaining high standards.

It proves that such a thing can be done, something I’ve been arguing for my entire College Football life.

While a Rose Bowl win for TCU may have been a win for smaller schools like (gulp) Boise State and Nevada, a BCS win for the Cardinal is a win for all institutions of “higher higher – learning,” like Notre Dame.

It certainly helps to have a player like Andrew Luck. Luck is the best quarterback in the nation. He threw for over 3000 yards and 28 touchdowns. But the QB isn’t the only offensive weapon that can beat you.

Stephan Taylor is a 1000 yard running back. Taylor scored 15 touchdowns and finished the season with a 115 yard on 14 carries in a 38 – 0 rout of Oregon State.

Although Tyrod Taylor and Virginia Tech impressed after starting 0-2, I don’t think they are dynamic enough of offense to beat Stanford. Stop the run game, stop Va Tech. The Cardinal is good enough to do that.

The Pick: Stanford

Bowl Mania: 19 - 9

BCS Games: 1-1
