Let's Not Hang Out At The Wax Museum

Let me start this blog off by saying this. I am all for practical jokes and pranks. I really am. Don't believe me? I once stuck 2300 Post-It Notes on our good friend Matt Saur's car to get him back for a prank he pulled on me months ago. So I do not want people to think that Matt Soldano can't handle a practical joke every now and then. I am no buzzkill. Never have been. Never will be. But this is where I cross the line.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu wanted to have some fun at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum out in Hollywood. He stood around the rest of the wax figures and when people came up to take pictures, well, yeah...

This is why I will never go to wax museums. Ever. Even before watching this video I've always been creeped out by these ridiculous exhibits. I once went to the Madame Tussauds in London but not by choice. I was part of the foreign exchange program in 7th grade and that was one of the stops. Freaked me out when I was 12. Freaks me out even more when I'm 21.

It's not like I am anticipating for the figures to actually be real every single time but even when they are wax, they are so creepy looking. They just look uninviting. And posing with them? Even stranger.

You want to hang out in the city with me? Let's do it. We'll play chess in Central Park. We'll see Fiddler on the Roof. We'll get in a nice round of Subway Tag. I draw the line at wax museums.
