Two Amare Stoudemire Trade Rumors

With the NBA Draft approaching the trade rumors are circulating everywhere and today, Amare Stoudemire is front and center.

Rumor #1 - Amare Stoudemire to the Golden State Warriors for the 7th pick and Andris Biedrins.

Rumor #2 - Amare Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa to the Houston Rockets for Tracy McGrady, Aaron Brooks, and Carl Landry.

So which trade makes more sense?  I like the first rumor more.  Biedrins is a guy who provides more defense than Stoudemire, a better rebounder, and is only getting better. He will be 23 years old next season and averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds last year.  With the 7th pick the Suns can obtain a point guard in Stephen Curry, Johnny Flynn, or Tyreke Evans who can be the heir apparent to Steve Nash. While this is a weak draft and Biedrins does not give you the same offensive production as Amare it is inevitable the Suns are going to have to move him.

The second rumor is entertaining because when healthy McGrady has superstar potential but that is a big "when".  McGrady's expiring contract is also attractive.  Aaron Brooks could substitute the role that Barbosa played but it is understood the Suns want to keep Captain Barbosa long-term.

Remember, at 6:30 pm (EST) on 3rdstringsafety.com, I will be hosting a live chat discussing the NBA Draft from the very first to the very last pick.  Make sure you check that out.
