From KTAR in Arizona:Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa, and the 14th overall pick. They did mention that Boston initiated the proposal, and that the Suns have not made a comment on it as of yet.
KTAR mentions no sources -- not even 'unnamed sources' -- so right away this is fishy. But for the hell of it, let's say this rumor is legit.
Ray Allen is aging but is still the best 3-point shooter and free throw shooter in the NBA. And Rajon Rondo is a top point guard in the league. Face it, he's in the top 3 with Chris Paul and Deron Williams.
Then adding Stoudemire ousts Kendrick Perkins, a good young player, out of the lineup.
Boston has had the current group of players together for 2 years, and in 1 of the 2 years, they won the NBA Championship. Why would they dismantle that?
The deal seems to make more sense for Phoenix. Amare Stoudemire wants to leave Phoenix badly. Barbosa is good, not great. Then in return, they get two top players.
It just looks like a bad deal for Boston.
