Benched for alleged "fatigue," slumping New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez partied until 2:30 a.m. Saturday in Miami Beach. He then disappeared into the tropical night with actress Kate Hudson in the back seat of his chauffeured Maybach.
And while it's pretty obvious A-Rod and Hudson are an item, the third baseman wasn't too fatigued to continue pretending otherwise. Indeed, it must be a coincidence that Hudson, the star of Almost Famous and Fool's Gold, is in Miami just as Rodriguez's New York Yankees are playing the Florida Marlins in SoFla this weekend.
Oh wow... I guess this isn't the best move in terms of PR for Alex Rodriguez, but I can't say that I'm upset over this. I know he got the days off because of fatigue and an early morning club run could reverse the effects of Friday and Saturday, but he really didn't do anything wrong.
Let him have a good time with his woman. Let him go out in his hometown. Let him live his life. Now I'm not a club guy. I've been. Not a fan. There's something about bad music so loud that you can't talk to anybody that doesn't appeal to me. But if that's what he wants to do, he can do it.
I bet if A-Rod went to a sewing circle right before a game he'd get just as much coverage and backlash. The way this guy is treated is ridiculous.
All the gossip websites and most of the Yankees fan base are going to give him hell about this. As long as he didn't get absolutely S---Faced and drove, it's not a big deal.
That aside, I think the time has come. Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson are together. They're the new hot celebrity couple. They need a hybrid name like Speidi or Brangelina.
