In a follow-up from Monday's story, Dave Hutchinson writes:
Running back Leon Washington is prepared to skip the Jets' entire organized team activities this offseason if there is no substantial progress in negotiations on a new contract, according to a person familiar with the dispute between Washington and the team.
Also, Bob Glauber of Newsday posted comments from Alvin Keels, Washington's agent, from his Twitter page.
Keels wrote:
-"I want to get my client Leon Washington back into the off-season program. Its a business however and that's what we will need 2 address."
-"I think the Jets are a little pissed at me right now! Oh well...its part of the business."
He continued to hype his client when he wrote:
How many players in the NFL can "legitimately" score from "anywhere" on the field 3 or more different ways? rushing, receiving, PR/KR?
my answer is (5).. Daren Sproles, Maurice Jones-Drew, Devin Hester Reggie Bush and Leon Washington...can anyone think of anymore???
He's right. Leon is one of few in the NFL. That's why the Jets should have inked him about 2 months ago.
--By the way, with Boland off the Jets beat, who will step up and emerge as the best Jets writer in the area? Hutchinson is looking good right now.
