Is It To Early?

So we all know Mark Sanchez impressed at New York Jets rookie camp this past week but he is not the only rookie who has raised eyebrows.

Meet Jamaal Westerman, a defensive end out of Rutgers who took $12,000 less than another undisclosed team to sign with the Jets.  Apparently the Bears and Texans also were interested in JW.  Now, Westerman is playing as a stand-up linebacker in Rex Ryan's 3-4 scheme.

However, the real news of the story is this, out of The Star-Ledger.

"In fact, in his first four practices at his new position, Westerman has been more impressive and instinctive than 2008 first-round pick Vernon Gholston, who made a similar switch last season.  The 6-3, 260-pounder looks at ease dropping back in pass coverage and, of course, he can get after the quarterback."

So Jets fans, you tell me, is it too early to call Gholston a bust?

If I am giving an answer I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and let Ryan work with him for a year.  But the window of opportunity is certainly small.
