Interesting NBA Rumblings...

In today's NY Post, Peter Vescey wrote a very interesting column discussing Pau Gasol and the success of the Lakers.  He also dove into some quick NBA rumors and updates concerning free agency and the NBA Draft.

- Carlos Boozer is telling "confidants" that he will end up in either Detroit or New Jersey next season.  I always felt Detroit made sense, especially when they are going to shed cap by letting Iverson walk with his expiring contract but New Jersey also seems very intriguing.  Boozer in a lineup with Devin Harris, Vince Carter, and Brook Lopez is extremely promising. Not to mention, CDR coming off the bench.  For his career, Boozer averages 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Nets have not had a dominant post-player in years.  I wonder what Max Caster thinks about this.

- Eat your heart out Nick Malone, Peter Vescey believes the Hornets are almost a guarantee to sell their number one pick (21st overall) in next month's draft.  Don't expect the Hornets to be the only team to do such a thing, as the Knicks tried to buy the Grizzlies 27th pick and Darko Milicic for $3 million just a few days ago.

- Vescey also reports that Davidson guard Stephen Curry put on an "unreal" shooting performance for teams at the combine.  Much to the contrary, he actually grew an inch from what he was originally measured in college.  Teams know Curry can shoot so I do not know how much it helps his stock, it just doesn't hurt it.  He's going to have to prove that he can handle NBA point guard duties.

- The Knicks have scheduled workouts with UCLA's Jrue Holliday and USC's Demar DeRozan. I like Holliday as a fit more because if the Knicks are truly invested in Wilson Chandler and Gallo, DeRozan is only going to take away minutes.  Holliday can be a floor general and is committed to defense, much like Russell Westbrook is for the Thunder.

- The Raptors might deal Chris Bosh in the off-season in an attempt to get value for him now, rather than losing him in free agency in 2010.  The Bulls are rumored to be interested but Luol Deng would have to be part of the package.  Detroit could also land Bosh if the Pistons sign and trade for Boozer and Boozer ends across the border.
