Marc Berman of the NY Post writes:The Post has learned Houston has been tabbed to sit on the dais in Secaucus, to represent the Knicks in the May 19 lottery that will determine their draft order. Houston sat on the dais in 2003 during the LeBron James Lottery and the Knicks landed the No. 9 pick, which they used on bust Michael Sweetney.
Never have the Knicks needed more luck than in this lottery. Head coach Mike D'Antoni declined to go this year after he sat on the dais last May and the Knicks fell from fifth position to No. 6.
This reasoning makes no sense. Allan Houston, as much as I love him, is supposed to bring luck? He brought Michael Sweetney! In the 2003 Draft -- one of the best classes ever.
And D'Antoni is somehow unlucky because he brought in the 6th pick. That was Danilo Gallinari. One of the Knicks' best players last year and a key component in their future.
This is screwy.
I hope the Nets tell Keith Van Horn that he should get on extra grind... because it's reppin' time.
