More to the Cushing/Matthews Fire...

Maybe everyone is not aware that I am not the biggest fan of Brian Cushing.  He and former USC teammate Clay Matthews reportedly tested positive for steroids during the NFL Draft workouts. Since then, those reports have vehemently been denied but at the same, these pictures of Cushing lead me to believe the dude was juicing up at some point.

Now here's this from Pro Football Talk:

Former USC linebacker Clay Matthews, who is regarded as a potential first-round draft pick, created two years ago, a Facebook group called "White Nation," which among other things advocated the "arrest [of] black babies before they become criminals."  Former USC linebacker Brian Cushing, another potential first-round prospect, joined the Facebook group.

It was all a joke, an unnamed administration source previously told the Daily Trojan.

Apparently, the joke arose from the fact that Matthews, Cushing, and other white teammates were dubbed "White Nation" by one or more non-white USC players.

I'm sorry but this smells like Bad News Bears to me.  To me this sends some red flags around these guys and NFL teams should immediately inquire about this issue if they have not already. What is the joke in this again?  Even if they were dubbed this nickname by other members of the team, why on the facebook group are they discriminating against minorities in such an inexplicable way?  This is truly a disgrace and I am still trying to find the joke and humor in all of it...
