About three weeks ago my good friend, Jordan Lauterbach and I were discussing the WCWP Fantasy Basketball league. Jordan has been on the top of the league since about week two and has had a steady cushion for the entire season. I have always been around third or fourth place but about 20 games behind Jordan. Me being commissioner of the league and host of the station's only professional basketball show, I believed I was the early favorite to win it all. However, Mr. Lauterbach has persevered through injuries hindering Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer and rode Devin Harris (who he picked in the 10th round) all the way to a regular season championship. So after a bit of trash talking from both sides, both parties came to an agreement on a wager that should settle the beef once and for all.
Wilt Chamberneezy (Team Soldano) and Son of Dad (Team Lauterbach) meet in the semi-finals which begin today and go up all the way until next Monday (April 6th). If I beat Jordan and advance to the finals, Jordan must do "The Edge", his radio show, in his bath robe and mocassins, a combo he wears almost every night before he says his beddy-byes. Don't worry, there is a web-cam so everyone can see Jordan in his glory. If Jordan wins, I will be forced to shave off my little goatee I have in the works that I have been working on for oh, so long.
The stakes are high, the teams are ready to tip off and the scores will be updated daily right here.
