Mike T here, and boy were the 3 "afternoon" games were all blowouts. I alsmost fell asleep at one point.
One was shocking, as (3) Villanova blew out (6)UCLA 89-69 in the 2nd round of the East region. But then again, Villanova was the higher seed so was it really a shocker?
In the West region, (1) UConn got their coach, Jim Calhoun back, then proceeded to whoop on (9) Texas A&M 92-66 to move on to the Sweet 16.
Also out West, (2) Memphis rebounded from a surprisingly close game in the first round to beat down (10) Maryland 89-70. Tyreke Evans had 11 points in the first 5 minutes for Memphis, and finished with 19 for John Calipari.
