Now onto a brief review of the later games today:

Starting with the late games the two seed Duke Blue Devils held on against the Texas Longhorns 74-69.  Gerald Henderson led all scorers with 24 points for Duke but the real difference was the lack of execution from the line for the Horns.  They shot just 16-25 and had Mike T. pulling out his hair.  Duke will meet Villanova in the Sweet 16.

Jeremy Pargo got the game winning lay-up to go with .9 seconds left to go in regulation to defeat Western Kentucky 81-79.  The Hilltoppers tied the game up on a tip-in but failed to get back on defense.  The refs however missed WKU's head coach pleading for a time out as the Zaga raced up the court on their final possession.

Zaga will now face North Carolina in the Sweet 16 as the Tar Heels survived a second half run by the LSU Tigers.  In the end, Ty Lawson bad toe and all were too much as UNC won 84-70. Lawson scored 21 of his 23 points in the 2nd half and also dished out six assists.  Marcus Thornton had 25 for LSU.

Oklahoma defeated Michigan 73-63 to advance to the round of 16.  Blake Griffin had 33 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Sooners.  Standout Wolverine Manny Harris struggled all game long scoring just 11 points and fouling out in 21 minutes.  Oklahoma will play the Cuse-Arizona State winner.

Finally, Purdue defeated Washington in another thriller 76-74.  Purdue went into the half up 11 points but Jon Brockman led the Huskies back in it.  He finished the game with 20 points and 18 rebounds but Purdue was able to hold on in the end.  They now will face UConn in the next round.

Mike and I are back tomorrow for more college basketball fun!
