Now onto the games:

Missouri by far has been the most impressive team I have seen in the tournament so far.  The Tigers defeated Memphis 102-91 earlier in the night to advance to the Elite 8.  Any time you reach the century mark against a team that only gives up 57 points per game, you know your doing something right offensively.  Mizzou is so great at playing pressure defense and when they get the ball, push it up the court quickly and make great passes.  DeMarre Caroll had a nice game for Missouri scoring 17 points and pulling down 6 boards and dishing out 6 assists. The real star however, was guard J.T. Tiller who poured in a career high 25 points.  Memphis was led by Tyreke Evans who scored a career high as well, 33 points.  Mizzou led 64-40 at one point but Memphis charged back with a comeback that eventually decreased the deficit to six. However, Memphis' inability to knock down free throws killed them in the end.  They shot just 18-32 from the line.  Missouri did not shoot much better going 30-45.

Villanova kept it close with Duke through the first 20 minutes as they went into the break up 26-23.  However, they blew the doors off of the Blue Devils outscoring them 51-31 in the 2nd half.  This game was absolutely dominated by the Wildcats as they outrebounded Duke 45-31 and held the ACC Champs to just 28% shooting.  Nova's defense held the Big Three of Duke (Henderson, Scheyer, and Singler) to just 9-43 from the field.  Dante Cunningham recorded a double double for Villanova with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Mike and I will be back tomorrow for more Sweet 16 action.
