Nate Robinson has emerged as the Knicks' best player -- especially in the last month or so. The injury to his ankle took him out of that role. He tried to regain that position tonight and failed miserably. Nate did not take smart shots nor did he pass to an open player as an alternative to taking a questionable shot. He was trying to do to much. He was trying to be the savior.
Robinson's situation reminds me of what Alex Rodriguez is set to go through. He is prepared to play with a torn labrum in his hip, an injury that, last year, retarded the production of Mike Lowell and Chase Utley. Both the Red Sox and Phillies made it deep into the playoffs, but not having their star players at 100% affected the teams severely.
Rodriguez's presence in the lineup is always valuable, but when he is not at his pinnacle, he will not help the Yankees to his full capabilities and may even hurt them due to his limits. Regardless, Alex is going to march out there to uphold his image as the best ever, while making himself appear courageous.
Use Robinson's performance as evidence as to why Alex Rodriguez should not attempt to play through his injury and try to make up for his shortcomings. Robinson pressed and he lost a very winnable game for the Knicks. Rodriguez will do the same.

Also, I think we had a glimpse of what is to come for Nate Robinson in 5 years. As he ages, Robinson will lose some of his explosiveness, speed and jumping ability. Those are the three elite aspects of his game that separate him from any other player who is under 6 feet, and what makes him good enough to play effectively against larger NBA players. It's going to be scary watching Nate in a few years. I guess it's just another reason for New York to keep David Lee instead of Robinson.

The Streak Ends
David Lee's streak of consecutive games with a double-double ended Saturday at a staggering 24 straight games. His last game without a double-double was on January 12 against New Orleans. Lee now has 49 double-doubles on the year -- just one better than Orlando Center Dwight Howard.

Gall-PalIt is being reported that WCWP Favorite and Knicks Rookie Danilo Gallinari has found a woman worthy enough to be in the presence of the Knicks' most efficient player. The woman is currently an 8th grade english teacher. That new haircut of his must've got her.
I'm not so sure if she would appreciate this:
Well... she is an attractive woman.
